One of the biggest content distribution portals, Kickass Torrents, has launched its own release group, named KATRG (Kickass Torrents Release Group).
If you are not familiar with the term Release Group, it is a group that takes over codification and release of new (or even old) pirated content. In most cases the subject of a torrent site release group is movies.
Some of the most famous Release Groups were YIFY, which stopped working after MPAA, RARBG, ETRG, and aXX0, powered by 2.005 and 2.009.
As TorrentFreak reports, the move appears to be the same strategy used by YIFY, releasing existing movies, with re-encoded content, through the webσελίδα Kickass Torrents.
KATRG only has 20 torrents so far, and they seem to have been uploaded by one account which has registered Three years ago.
It remains to be seen how long he will stay on stage before the copyright holders intervene…
