Lexar manufactured an SDXC memory card with a capacity of 1 terabyte and it is the first card available on the market.
SanDisk was the first company που announced a 1TB SDXC card in 2016, but it was never implemented and has not yet reached store shelves. The new Lexar card is available for sale today.
The new Lexar 1TB 633x SDXC UHS-I card features speed read speed of up to 95 MB/s and write speed of 70 MB/s, although it is only rated as V30 / U3, which guarantees a sustained write performance of 30 MB/s.
Lexar Marketing Director Joey Lopez says: “Almost fifteen years ago, Lexar announced a 1GB SD card. Today, we are excited to announce 1TB of storage capacity for the same medium. "As consumers continue to demand more storage for their cameras, the combination of high performance with 1TB option now offers a solution for media creators, capturing large volumes of high-resolution images and 4K video."
With this latest announcement, Lexar is getting back into making memory cards. Two years ago the Lexar brand was spun off by its parent company Micron before being sold to Chinese company Longsys in late 2017. Longsys then announced the restitution of Lexar cards in late 2018.
The new Lexar 1TB SDXC card has one suggested retail price at $ 500, but if you look in the market You will find it at $ 400.
