Open source Microsoft PowerShell comes to Linux & MacOS

In order to promote its products, through closer collaboration with the developer community, Microsoft has decided to open the PowerShell code and allocate it to Linux and MacOS.

So the company opened the .NET kernel 2014 and released the 1.0 version in June of this year.

The base of the code will be common to all operating systems and will be available under MIT license in GitHub.

Additionally, Microsoft has ported PowerShell Service on Linux so that it can be integrated into text editors for programming and debugging.

The company notes that this initial version is still in "Alfa" condition.
