Share a URL via QR code in Chrome and Edge

Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge let you create a QR code for a web address of your choice.

QR

You can create a QR code image for any website you want. You should just be running Chrome ή τον Edge Canary.

The beginning was made by Chrome and after two days followed by Edge. Of course we will see it in other browsers that rely on Chromium, such as Opera, Vivaldi, etc.

Η QR code generator will encode a URL of your choice. You can then read the code with a compatible device, e.g. with the of your phone and quickly share between your devices or your friends.

The feature is enabled via a flag from the browser settings. He is still in , therefore is not enabled by default. If you want to try it, see below what you need to do. We reiterate that the following steps assume that you have installed the latest Edge Canary or Chrome Canary.

How to enable QR Code Generator in Microsoft Edge, (do the same in Chrome)

1. Update Microsoft Edge Canary (or Chrome) to the latest version.

2. Open Edge and type the following text in the address bar:
edge: // flags / # sharing-qr-code-generator

This will open the flag page directly in the relevant setting.

3. Select Enebled from the drop-down list.

4. Restart Edge by closing it manually. You can also use the Restart which will appear at the bottom of the page.

How to use .
To share a URL via QR Code in Microsoft Edge Chromium, go to the desired page and right-click on it.

1. Select "Generate a QR code for this page". In Chrome you will find it in the menu with the vertical dots. Or, in both browsers, click the new icon in the field with the url.

2. It will be created immediately and you will see the image with the QR code.

3. You can press "Download" to save it, or just read it on your smartphone.
