Microsoft announced a while ago that it released a preview version (Preview) for the "next generation" of Skype, which completely changes the application.
The new Skype preview app was initially released only for Android, but the company promised that it will soon be released for iOS, Windows and Mac OS X. The new app, according to the company, “aims to creation, reproduction, sharing and in general to "do more" with the users who use it.
Note: Skype for Android preview is only available in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Philippines and Pakistan.
Microsoft describes the new application in the following way on the Skype blog.
"Rebuilt from the ground up, the new Skype dramatically improves the ways you can connect with your loved ones people and, of course, your conversations. We've made group chats more alive, expressive, and more importantly—personalized—so you can chat the way you want.
New features added by Microsoft are options to select a color and customize it in the application UI, the new emoticon response feature in conversations or video calls, and the new highlights feature that lets you create a photo and video folder , and share them easily.
There is also a new shooting mode that instantly opens the camera when you turn it on. You can use it to take photos or videos, add text to them, or place emoticons on them before sharing them with others.
Another new feature is the search panel that is backed up by add-ons and bots to give you information from various sources.
