Slax is a fairly popular Linux distribution created and maintained by Tomas Matejicek. She was one of the first distributions που δημιουργήθηκαν με βάση το Slackware, but recently it seems that it is no longer actively developed by its creator.
To be more precise, it has been about four years since we saw a large release of the Slax distribution.
The creator of the distribution was and remains a follower of the KISS philosophy (Keep It Simple, Stupid) but as we mentioned above, he probably got tired of being consistent in the development of the project.
But according to a post on the project's blog, a new one will be released soon version of distribution.
But hold on:
This time the new distribution will not be based on Slackware but on Debian. Why; Let's see what Tomas Matejicek said:
"The main decision I had to make was to leave Slackware, or not rely on Slackware anymore."
The reasons for this change and other technical details of the upcoming version of Slax may be found on the project blog.
