H TobyRich, is a German company specializing in controlled by smartphones gadgets. The company unveiled its SmartPlane, which it calls "the world's first smartphone-controlled airplane."
The airplane is made of expanded polypropylene and is quite durable and light. THE battery The lithium polymer batteries that power the aircraft are also extremely light, adding just 1g to the weight of the aircraft. TobyRich reports that the battery provides over five minutes of full-throttle flight. Charging the battery is done with a microUSB cable and takes about 15 minutes.
SmartPlane connects to iOS devices via Bluetooth Smart (or low-power Bluetooth), the range of which reaches 60 meters. The airplane can only be connected to one device at a time, while a white LED on the plane shows the connection status.
The plane's firmware is automatically updated over the air to ensure it's always up to date version even if it's in the car.
