Η Microsoft yesterday released Windows 4490481 cumulative update KB10 for devices running version 1809, which is also the latest for regular PCs.
The version became available only one day after the company sent it to the inner Preview ring Release. The update is available exclusively for Windows 10 version 1809, also referred to as the “October 2018 Update”, and increases the number of creations of the operating system to 17763.404.
The list of changes (changelog) contained in KB4490481 is huge and you can see it at English language, from here.
However, it is worth noting that this update fixes an issue that has affected computers with multiple audio devices. This is an error recognized by Microsoft in previous cumulative updates.
We read in the Changelog: “Applications that provide advanced options for internal or external audio output devices may stop working unexpectedly. This issue occurs for users who select an audio output device other than “Default Audio Device”. Examples of applications that may stop working include Windows Media Player, Realtek HD Audio Manager, and Sound Blaster Control Panel ”.
In addition, Microsoft reports that it has fixed an error that caused the Start menu layout to reset after upgrading to Windows 10 version 1809. In October 10, the "Start" menu lost its settings, so this cumulative update tackles this unexpected behavior.
At the time of writing, there are no reports of failed installations and everything went smoothly on our devices, here at iguru.
