Windows 11 free upgrade from 2022

After Microsoft officially announced Windows 11, we all learned that the operating system will be for Insiders from this week.

Most likely, Windows 11 will be released about the same day as the 21H2 version of Windows 10, so we should expect them in October or November.

The company also said that the new operating system will be made available as a free upgrade to some compatible Windows 10 devices. The official Windows Twitter account gave us more about the timing of this free upgrade.

More specifically, devices running Windows 10 could upgrade to Windows 11 starting in 2022. So while the new operating system will be officially released this year, Windows 10 users will have to wait a few months before they can upgrade.

"Windows 11 will be released later in 2021 and will be developed for several months. "The start of the upgrade to Windows 10 devices already in use today will begin in 2022, the first half of the same year," the Windows Twitter account posted.

Of course, Microsoft initially stated that the free upgrade would be available later in 2021.

"We're also working with OEMs to make sure the Windows 10 PCs you buy today will be ready to upgrade to Windows 11. The free upgrade will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs this holiday and will continue through 2022 .This week, we'll start making an early build of Windows 11 available in the Program – a community of Windows fans whose feedback is important to us,” Microsoft said in the original announcement.

There will likely be more information as we get closer to the Windows 11 release, so for now be patient. Or better follow the way we suggest to this post.
