Η team WordPress development released version 5.0.1 last night. It is a security release that is also needed for all previous versions from WordPress version 3.7 onwards.
So it is important to immediately notify your sites (* if they have not already been notified). 
This means that all app developers of the plug-ins should read the 5.0.1 release notes for compatibility of their add-ons.
Versions of WordPress 5.0 and earlier versions are affected by several errors, published on the official CMS website. Note that there are separate updates for WordPress 4.9, for them users that haven't updated to version 5.0 yet.
(*) We should mention that due to the nature of the update, the system can update itself, since it is an update security.
