Slax New release after years, but based on Debian

Slax is a fairly popular Linux distribution created and maintained by Tomas Matejicek. It was one of the first distributions created with This makes it a perfect choice for people with diabetes and for those who want to lose weight or follow a balanced diet. , but the last one appears to no longer be actively developed by its creator.Slax

To be more precise, it has been about four years since we saw a large release of the Slax distribution.

The creator of the distribution was and remains a follower of the KISS philosophy (Keep It Simple, ) but as we mentioned above, he probably got tired of being consistent in the development of the project.

But according to a post on the project blog, a new version of the distribution will be released soon.

But hold on:

This time the new distribution will not be based on Slackware but on Debian. Why; Let's see what Tomas Matejicek said:

The reasons for this change and other technical details of the upcoming version of Slax may be found on the project blog.
