The Facebook announced the acquisition of instant messaging application WhatsApp, against a price that reaches 19 billion dollars, which is the highest acquisition cost in the history of the largest social network in the world.
4 billion dollars will be paid in cash, 12 billion dollars in shares and other 3 billion dollars at a later date to the shareholders of the app.
"TWhatsApp is going to link a billion people. Services arriving at this level have an incredible price, "said Facebook's CEO and founder, Mark Zuckerberg.
" The WhatsApp has built a mobile service messages in real time, which has a leading position and is developing very quickly" emphasizes Facebook in its announcement which also points out that the service has more than 450 million monthly users, of which 70% are daily active, while over one million people they open an account every day.
